Philanthropy of the Month
We’re passionate about a lot of things at Quay but most of all, we’re passionate about uplifting communities across the nation. As an international brand with a global platform, we believe it’s our responsibility to use our unique position to help those who need it. Every month, we select a philanthropic organization whose purpose and work not only tug on our heartstrings, but also demonstrate the potential to create positive, lasting change. Current events have placed the unique challenges facing girls and women alike front and center, so this month felt like the perfect time to shine a spotlight on an organization near and dear to our hearts: Girls, Inc. of Alameda County.
Meet Girls, Inc. of Alameda County
Girls, Inc. is a national, non-profit organization committed to helping girls become who they want to be. Driven by their primary goal to inspire girls to be strong, smart and bold, the Alameda County chapter starts with making them feel valued, safe and prepared to achieve their collegiate, professional and leadership dreams. Through school partnerships, mentorships and organizational initiatives, they’re able to allocate and provide the resources necessary for every girl they connect with to navigate—and overcome—gender, economic and racial barriers in their way.
No two people are alike, so strength, intelligence and boldness look different for everyone. While Girls, Inc. of Alameda celebrates the beauty of each girl’s individuality, they also equip them with objective information to help them become their own kind of strong, smart and bold.
Strong
Healthy lifestyle and risk-evaluation education teaches girls how to determine their needs, honor their individual bodies and protect their socio-emotional well-being through positive risk-taking.
Smart
Knowledge begins with a spark of curiosity, and the freedom to dream fans that spark into flame. Every partnership, program and organizational initiative aims to help girls imagine a future built around their interests.
Bold
Programs centered around sisterhood, self-knowledge and advocacy offer safe environments for girls to find their voice as they develop through exploration.
